Responding to market research into skills demanded, the UMBC Tailoring & Dressmaking training equips individuals with effective technical skills in operating industrial machinery & equipment, garment stitching, production and tailoring. The programs are comprehensive and train individuals to manage clients, develops their knowledge on business and offers support to aspiring entrepreneurs.

From their participation, UMBC has seen many women of the Basti realise their potential, take beneficial risks and positively impact themselves, their families and community.

Additionally UMBC has connected with Gap Inc. to deliver the
P.A.C.E. program to the women and girls of our community. Personal Advancement and Career Enhancement is highly corroborative and complementary to our Tailoring & Dressmaking training. 

UMBC has been approved as A Testing Centre for Direct Candidate Assessment (DCA) under Skill Development Initiative Scheme (SDIS) based on Modular Employable Skills (MES) approved by Director General of Training, Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Govt of India & Directorate of Technical Education & Training, Govt of Odisha. Therefore UMBC offers a number of certified programs.
